DAY 1 Copenhagen
Welcome to the beautiful city of Copenhagen. On arrival make your way to the hotel. Depending on the time of day, you can start exploring this marvelous city right away. Maybe take a stroll down the main shopping street, Stroget, or have a taste of the famous Danish hotdog! This evening, join your fellow tour members and guide at a welcome meeting.

DAY 2 Copenhagen - Aarhus

Be taken on a tour of the city today with a local guide. With a history dating over a thousand years, there is so much to absorb in the capital of Denmark. Pass the theatres, museums and restaurants as you see the Amalienborg palace, the stock market building and the Christianborg palace. The tour will conclude at the "little Mermaid" statue. In the afternoon you will depart for Aarhus on the ferry from Odden.

DAY 3 Aarhus - Fjord Line
Aarhus was named the European capital of culture in 2017, and it is yours to explore in your own time for the morning, with plenty of cobbled streets and beautiful buildings to marvel at. In the afternoon you will head to Hirtshal, and depart Denmark for Norway, via the Fjord Line ferry overnight. Dinner and a sea view cabin will be included on this journey, where you will arrive into Stavanger in the following morning.

DAY 4 Stavanger
After breakfast on the ship, disembark to the city of Stavanger, which has been standing since the 12th Century. The day will start with a guided panoramic walk, before leaving the day free to explore. You may spend the day learning about its Viking history, or take one of the optional tours on offer, which we highly recommend. To get the best from the city and the fjords, you can take the 3 hour cruise down the Lysefjord, getting so close to the waterfalls you can feel the spray, with a chance to sight "The Pulpit". If the opportunity to climb the Pulpit is one you cannot miss, then take the other tour, which takes you on the cruise earlier in the day, but then carry on with a hike to the top of the ledge, with the majestic fjords opening up beneath you.

If you take the hiking tour you will not be able to attend the Stavanger tour in the morning.

DAY 5 Stavanger - Bergen
Enjoy the ferry rides from Mortavika to Arsvagen, and then Sandvikvag to Halhjem, as you make your way to the city known as "The gateway to the Fjords", Bergen. In the afternoon you will be taken on a tour of this city with a local guide seeing the sights, including the wonderful fish market in the Hanseatic quarter. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore. We advise taking the Floibanen Funicular to the top of the Floyen mountain, where you can see the city from above, take a walk, or maybe try a fresh pastry from the café.

DAY 6 Bergen - Flam - Balestrand
Today you journey into the fjords by rail and sea. Start with the specular train journey from Voss, soking in the surrounding beauty as it climbs nearly 900 meters to Myrdal station. From here you board the famous Flamsbana! Rated one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world, it passes steep mountains, breath-taking waterfalls and goes through 20 tunnels.
After some free time to explore in Flam, your journey continues on a cruise of the Sognefjord. Starting in the 17Km section called the Aurlandsfjord, pass through to Sognefjord "The King of Norway", and see why it is named as such. Continue on to Balestrand where you will overnight with dinner included.

DAY 7 Balestrand - Borgund Church - Oslo
Snake through the mountains as you journey on to Oslo today. Along the way view the multiple villages and the jaw dropping nature. You will arrive then at the Borgund Church, with its towering jet black spire contrasting against the lush green surroundings. In the afternoon you will continue to Lake Tyrifjord, one of the largest in Norway, before arriving into the magnificent city of Oslo.

DAY 8 Oslo - Karlstad
Begin the day with a tour of Oslo, including the Frogner Park and the Vigeland sculpture complex, as well as many of the major sights of the city. Lunch is free time for yourself before departing for the Kingdom of Sweden. You will arrive into Karlstad, found in the delta of the Klara River and Lake Vanern, where you will spend the night.

DAY 9 Karlstad - Stockholm
You will arrive into the Capital of Sweden, Stockholm this morning. Sitting on 14 islands, and surrounded by Lake Malaren, this city has been the seat of power of the Kingdom of Sweden for hundreds of years. Upon arrival you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of the city, seeing the old town "Galma Stan", the Royal palace, Cathedral and the Parliament. The rest of the day will be yours to unearth what makes this city tick, with food, shopping and museums all at your disposal.

DAY 10 Stockholm
After breakfast and checkout of your hotel, your tour concludes for your onward journey.

Prebook your optionals
Only available when prebooked, ask your consultant about one of the following optionals on Day 4 to cruise Lyesefjord Fjord and to see or climb the famous Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock.

Option 1: Lysefjord Cruise: 3-hour cruise of the Lysefjord will take you right into the heart of the fjord, and so close to one of the waterfalls that you can feel the spray from it. You will also pass the famouse Pulpit rock towering above, before returning to Stavanger for the evening.

Option 2: Lysefjord Cruise and Preikestolen Climb: Leaving Stavanger after breakfast, cruise through the Lysejord, past beautiful waterfalls and stunning mountains. You will then take the climb up to the top of the Preikestolen, otherwise known as "The Pulpit". This climb takes around 4 hours (round trip), and does require suitable clothing for the hike. (Travellers choosing Option 2 will not take the morning tour of Stavanger).
