DAY 1 Kirkenes
Welcome to Norway! Upon arrival into Kirkenes you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. At check-in you will be presented a Welcome Letter issued by the tour operator, advising you where to meet your tour leader where you will receive information on the upcoming tour program.

Stay at Thon Hotel Kirkenes (4 star)

DAY 2 Kirkenes - Saariselka

This morning experience one of the highlights on Northern Norway, King Crab Safari. You will be given thermal clothing to wear before heading out on the Kirkenes Fjord. You will come face to face with the giant of the sea, the red king crab can reach up to two meters from claw to claw and weigh up to 15 kilograms. Your catch of the day will be prepared in a remote cabin for a delicious lunch. After the safari travel south to the centre of Sami world at Inari, the capital of Lapland. Here you will visit the Sajos Sami Culture Centre and parliament on the shores of Lake Inari. Continue on to the small village of Saariselka, the centre of winter sports in Finland. Check-in to the hotel and enjoy a free evening. BL

Stay at Santa's Tunturi Hotel (4 star)

DAY 3 Saariselka - Sinetta
Your adventure continues as you make your way to Sinetta, located on the outskirts of Rovaniemi. Along the way you will experience one of the highlights of the tour, Sami Reindeer Farm and Sleigh Ride. Meet the traditional Sami farmers who will tell you about the reindeer and teach you how to throw Suopunki (Sami lasso). Sit in your two person sleigh being pulled by reindeer and experience this traditional and peaceful way of travelling though the white landscape. A traditional 3-course lunch will be served after the sleigh ride. Continue south to Sinetta along the winding roads and snowy forest. Arrive at the Arctic Snow Hotel where you will check in to your Glass Igloo. In the evening, you are invited to a traditional 3-course dinner in a wooden "Kota' where fresh salmon is slowly grilled over the fire in a big fire pit.

This afternoon you may wish to try the Optional **, 1.5hr Snow Sauna and Outdoor Jacuzzi. This must be pre-booked. Or if you are feeling really adventurous you can choose the Optional Tour**, Overnight in a Snow Suite with Evening Sauna and Outdoor Jacuzzi Experience. This optional tour must be pre-booked. BLD

Stay at Arctic Snow Hotel in a Glass Igloo

DAY 4 Sinetta - Santa Claus Village - Rovaniemi
Depart Sinetta late morning and stop on the banks of the Kemi-joki River to experience one of the most idyllic Husky Safaris of the region. You will be welcomed with the enthusiastic barks from the friendly dogs at the husky farm. The head musher will talk about life and training of these animals, you will have the chance to take some great photos. After brief instructions, ride in pairs through the forest behind your husky pack. After the ride enjoy a traditional outdoor lunch of Lappish sausage grilled on the fire followed by Lappish pancakes and coffee. Continue to the magical Santa Claus Village. Stroll through the village filled with souvenir shops, Santa's Post Office and cafes, you may even have the chance to meet Santa Claus himself. After the visit travel the short distance to Rovaniemi and enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure. BL

Drive through the wilderness on the 3hr Optional Tour**, Excursion to Aurora Borealis Camp by Snowmobile. Includes - transportation, guide, thermal clothing, meal and hot beverage. To drive a snowmobile in Finland you must have a valid driver's license from a country of issue which has signed the Road Traffic Convention of Geneva. Borealis Destination Management cannot accept responsibility for licenses that are not accepted.

DAY 5 Rovaniemi / Kemi
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a full day filled with activities. First visit the Snow Castle and enjoy the snow sculptures and complex with its special snow slide. Next experience one of the highlights of your winter adventure as you board the Sampo Icebreaker and spend four hours on this powerful vessel breaking through the ice of the northern Gulf of Bothnia. This incredible experience includes a guided tour of the ship with its massive engine room, communications room and bridge. Enjoy a 3-course meal at the restaurant on board before the opportunity to jump in the sea and float. You will be fitted with a survival suit and those who are brave enough to hop in the sea will receive a certificate for your courage. Early evening arrival to your hotel in Rovaniemi. BL

If you want an unforgettable dinner for your last night join the Optional Tour**, 3hr The Magic of the Arctic Circle. Includes - transport, guide and traditional 3-course dinner in igloo. Minimum 6 people.

  • The snow Castle is dependant on weather conditions and therefore cannot be guaranteed to be open before the 19th January.
  • December 14th departure will include a visit to the Ranua Wildlife park instead of Sampo Icebreaker cruise.
  • January 20th and 27th departures will go on a 3 hour Icebreaker cruise. Lunch will be included onshore in the Seaview Restaurant prior to the cruise.

DAY 6 Rovaniemi

Your tour concludes after breakfast with a transfer for your onward journey. B
