DAY 1 Stockholm
Arrival in Stockholm and make your way to your hotel. Enjoy your first look at Sweden’s charming capital city. Take time to explore the small and winding alley ways and find a restaurant to enjoy dinner this evening.

DAY 2 Stockholm – Kiruna
Stockholm is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, built on 14 islands and protected from the sea by the Stockholm archipelago. Your day is at leisure to explore some of the city’s best highlights including the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings and the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow cobbled streets. Later this evening you will make your way to the railway station for your overnight train to Kiruna, northern Sweden.

DAY 3 Kiruna
Awake this morning to the magical winter landscape of Swedish Lapland as your train rolls towards Kiruna. On arrival, you will be met by your local driver for a transfer to the famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi (located 20 minutes from Kiruna). Enjoy the remainder of your day exploring the surrounds or you may take the opportunity to join one of the many exciting winter activities including a snowmobile safari. Tonight you will have the unique experience of sleeping in an ICE room at a balmy minus 5 degrees. Sleeping on a special bed made of snow and ice and covered by reindeer skin, you will be toasty warm with your purpose made thermal sleeping bag.

DAY 4 Kiruna
This morning you are awakened with a cup of warm lingonberry juice at your bedside. After breakfast, its time to ride with the huskies. Experience the dogs’ tremendous desire to run and pull as you travel through the beautiful landscape of northern Lapland. As you sit back and enjoy the ride, the silence is broken only by the runners whooshing through the snow. Midway through your ride enjoy a break for wilderness coffee and cake served by an open fire.

This evening, we recommend an optional Northern Lights adventure followed by a night cap in the ICEBAR. Tonight’s accommodation is in a warm Kaamos room.

DAY 5 Kiruna – Abisko
After breakfast, transfer back to Kiruna where you will board your train heading to STF Abisko Mountain Station, in the heart of Abisko National Park. 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, visitors from all over the world come to experience the magical Northern Lights, Midnight sun, hiking and skiing in this area.

DAY 6 Abisko
Enjoy a free day to explore Abisko National Park. Surrounding your accommodation is a forest of birch wood, the frozen Tornetrask Lake, stunning mountain scenery and frozen waterfalls waiting to be explored with easy tracks or harder tracks to choose from.

This evening you will be treated to an exclusive dinner at the Aurora Sky Station. Your night starts with a comfortable chairlift ride giving you time to enjoy the serenity and darkness. Enjoy a four-course dinner influenced by Nordic cuisine followed by the opportunity to learn more about the Northern Lights on a guided tour around the skystation and with any luck, view the magical auroras.

DAY 7 Abisko - Narvik
Travel by train across the Swedish/Norwegian border to reach the port city of Narvik. This afternoon you will have time to explore Narvik, surrounded by spectacular fjords from the north to the south, with islands to the west and one of Norway's most popular ski resorts. The city itself grew significantly once the Ofoten Line was built, connecting Lapand in Sweden with Narvik for the transportation of iron ore to be exported from the tiny coastal city. During WWII Narvik became the centre of an iron ore struggle between Germany and Great Britain, culminating in 1940 to what is referred to as the 'Battle of Narvik' and regarded as Hitler's first loss of WWII.

This evening, join a Northern Lights Tour where you can learn techniques and skills in how to capture incredible pictures of them. In the surrounds of Narvik, away from the lights of the city, you will set up camp by a cosy fire to enjoy traditional waffles as you keep an eye on the sky waiting for the dancing lights to appear.

DAY 8 Narvik - Tromso
Travel further north on a scenic 4 hour journey by coach to Tromso, the capital of the Arctic. Tromso is the world’s most northerly university town and due to its location within the heart of the Northern Lights belt it is also one of the best places on earth to view the Aurora Borealis.

DAY 9 Tromso
Breakfast is served at the hotel, enjoy your free day to explore the Arctic capital. We recommend taking a ride on the Fjellheisen cable car up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Tromso and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords. Perhaps visit the Polar Museum, Northern Light Planetarium or simply wander around the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. This evening you may wish to experience the arctic terrain on an exhilarating snowmobile safari while chasing the famous Aurora Borealis.

DAY 10 Tromso
