DAY 1 Tromso
Welcome to Tromso! Upon arrival make your way to the Flybussen bus stop for your transfer to the city centre. After check in at your hotel, the rest of your day is at leisure to explore Tromso at your own pace.
This evening you have the opportunity to join an optional tour, 2 hour Tromso Cable Car, enjoying the panoramic views from over 400 metres above the city.

DAY 2 Tromso
This morning you will depart by private coach for a 3 hour city sightseeing tour for the perfect introduction to Tromso. This city enjoys a subarctic climate, its location corresponds to the northern coast of Alaska. Learn about the indigenous Sami people, their traditional culture and recent history. Following this, you will continue a tour around the island, passing Lake Prestvatn where the Meteorological Institute is situated. Travel across the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral for a visit to this masterpiece by Jan Inge Hovig. Built in 1965, the cathedral reflects north Norwegian nature, culture, and faith with a monumental stained-glass window.

This afternoon is at your leisure, but if you are wanting more, there is a optional tour on offer, POLARIA Museum & Tromso University Museum.

This evening, you will have the opportunity for one of the most memorable optional tours, the 4 hour Aurora Husky Visit. Upon arrival at the camp you will be provided with thermal overalls and boots to keep you nice and warm all evening. There are 300 friendly Alaskan huskies waiting to greet you and enjoy your cuddles. Afterwards enjoy a traditional Norwegian dinner in a cosy Gamme hut (turf home). As you sit around a warm bonfire your guide will keep a close eye on the sky, in case the Aurora appears.

DAY 3 Tromso - Alta
Depart Tromso and enjoy the 8 hour journey to Alta, that includes 2 ferry crossings. Marvel at the breathtaking scenery and magnificent nature along the way. Lunch will be en-route, with an afternooon arrival into Alta.

Tonight experience a magical optional tour, 4hour Sleigh Ride Under the Northern Lights (20.00hrs-00.00hrs) which includes transportation, sleigh ride pulled by a Norwegian Fjord Horse and a traditional dinner served around a warm fire in a wilderness shelter.

DAY 4 Alta
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be departing for the EMYA award-winning Alta Museum. This museum is situated on the site of the early settlement, Finnmark, dating from around 11,000 years ago, its exhibits are on the local culture and historic industries. You will have a guided tour of the museum as well as some free time to walk around on your own. Located in the town centre, we recommend you visit the modern Northern Lights Cathedral, the elegant and modern construction features concrete and wood with external cladding of titanium sheets. The central feature being the towering spiral with belfry. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure.

This evening there will be a optional tour on offer, the 4-5hr Northern Lights & Sorrisniva Ice Hotel, this tour includes a visit to the worlds northern most ice hotel, that is built every year with different themes. Afterwards you will be on the chase of the Northern Lights with your knowledgeable guide, who also will assist you with photographing this phenomenon.

DAY 5 Alta - Kirkenes
Early departure from Alta today, as you travel east through beautiful northern Lapland. Sit back and relax as your eyes feast on the breathtaking landscape as it unfolds during your 9 hour journey. Stop in Karasjok, where you will enjoy a 3 course lunch. Arrive into Kirkenes and check into your hotel before enjoying an evening at leisure.

DAY 6 Kirkenes - Saariselka
This morning is free to explore at your leisure. You may choose to join the optional King Crab Safari tour, one of Northern Norway's most memorable experiences. You will be given thermal clothing to wear before heading out on the Kirkenes Fjord. You will come face to face with the giant of the sea, the red king crab can reach up to two meters from claw to claw and weigh up to 15 kilograms. Your catch of the day will be prepared in a remote cabin for a delicious lunch.
This afternoon travel south to the centre of the Sami world at Inari, the capital of Lapland. Here you will visit the Sajos Sami Culture Centre and parliament on the shores of Lake Inari. Continue on to the small village of Saariselka, the centre of winter sports in Finland. Check-in to the hotel and enjoy a free evening.

DAY 7 Saariselka - Rovaniemi
Your adventure continues as you make your way to rural Rovaniemi, located 10km from the city centre. Along the way you will experience one of the highlights of the tour, Sami Reindeer Farm and Sleigh Ride. Meet the traditional Sami farmers who will tell you about the reindeer. Sit in your two person sleigh being pulled by reindeer and experience this traditional and peaceful way of travelling though the serene landscape. A traditional 3 course lunch will be served after the sleigh ride. Afterwards travel to rural Rovaniemi and enjoy the rest of your afternoon at leisure.
Late this afternoon there will be the opportunity to join the 3 hour optional tour, Aurora Borealis Safari by Snowmobile*. You will experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow covered forest and on the frozen river.
Includes: transportation, guide, thermal clothing, meal and hot beverage.
Tonight enjoy the warmth of your Igloo and, with weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the amazing Northern Lights and the millions of stars from the comfort of your bed.

DAY 8 Rovaniemi - Rovaniemi (city centre)
Depart late morning and stop on the banks of the Kemi-joki River to experience one of the most idyllic Husky Safaris of the region. You will be welcomed with the enthusiastic barks from the friendly dogs at the husky farm. The head musher will talk about life and training of these animals, you will have the chance to take some great photos. After brief instructions, ride in pairs through the forest behind your husky pack. After the ride enjoy a traditional outdoor lunch of Lappish sausage grilled on the fire followed by Lappish pancakes and coffee.
Continue to the magical Santa Claus Village. Stroll through the village filled with souvenir shops, Santa's Post Office and cafes, you may even have the chance to meet Santa Claus himself. After the visit travel the short distance to Rovaniemi and enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure.

DAY 9 Rovaniemi (city centre) / Kemi / Rovaniemi (city centre)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a full day filled with activities. First visit the Snow Castle* and enjoy the snow sculptures and complex with its special snow slide. Next experience one of the highlights of your winter adventure as you board the Sampo Icebreaker and spend approximately 3.5 hours on this powerful vessel breaking through the ice of the northern Gulf of Bothnia. This incredible experience includes a guided tour of the ship with its massive engine room, communications room and bridge. Enjoy a 3 course meal at the restaurant on board before the opportunity to jump in the sea and float. You will be fitted with a survival suit and those who are brave enough to hop in the sea will receive a certificate for your courage.

DAY 10 Rovaniemi (city centre)
Your tour concludes after breakfast with a group transfer to Rovaniemi Airport for your onward journey.
